Clinic AssistantDuties include, but are not limited to:Collaborates with the providers throughout each shift to determine work assignments and priorities, as well as communicating the status of delegated task completion and outcome of patient data findingsMaintains timely, ongoing verbal communication in order to assure good care of patients and the effective running of the Medical Respite CenterActs as a liaison between providers and other respite staffObtains and records accurate routine patient vital signsAssists with both new patient admissions and discharge of current patientsAssists with tracking of quality metrics, follow up of imaging/lab results, records requests and prior authorizationsProperly documents in EHR all aspects appropriately regarding patient careAssists with copying and clerical tasks as neededTreats each patient in a manner that preserves and supports patient confidentiality, patient rights, and patient dignityPerforms other duties as requiredQualifications:Basic Knowledge/Skills:Possesses strong attention to detail and organizational skillsHas knowledge of medical terminologyIs able to obtain vital signs accuratelyProficient in reading and writing skills in EnglishExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, challenging environmentDemonstrates an interest in working with an underserved populationMust have CPR CertificationBi-lingual- Spanish highly desiredExperience:High school diploma or GED required.Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant and/or Medical Assistant program and/or equivalent medical course and must have a minimum of one (1) year of related experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Prefer experience in a healthcare setting.Prior knowledge of prior authorization preferable.Must be at least 21 years oldValid Arizona driver's license, in effect for at least 3 yearsPhysical and Mental Requirements:Position requires extended periods of sitting and standingPosition requires regular bending and reaching, including transfer of patientsMust be able to lift, carry and push 20 pounds on a regular basisMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
