The Chip Box Operator is responsible for operating a chip box or aggregate spreader during road maintenance and chip seal projects. This role helps ensure materials are spread evenly and safely to support high‑quality paving work.
Job Responsibilities
Safely operate the chip box or aggregate spreader
Perform pre‑operation equipment checks
Load, unload, and monitor aggregate materials
Spread materials evenly according to project requirements
Adjust equipment settings to control material application
Inspect work for proper coverage and quality
Communicate with crew members to coordinate work
Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE
Report safety concerns or equipment issues immediately
Perform basic maintenance and clean equipment after use
Keep the work area clean and organized
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
Valid and Clean driving record for the past 3 years
Ability to work outdoors in hot and physically demanding conditions
Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
Able to travel and work flexible hours as required
Must pass drug testing / BG
Must be able to work under the Head of AZ Travel
