Job Title: Payroll Tax Accounting Specialist

Reports To: Controller

Job Summary:
Support the company by performing multi-state payroll tax processes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and accurately reporting payroll taxes to federal, state, and local authorities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Process weekly Federal Tax Deposits
• Process weekly multi-state tax payments
• Ensure accurate calculation of payroll taxes
• Prepare and submit payroll tax reports and returns to the appropriate tax authorities in a timely manner
• Reconcile payroll tax deposits and resolve discrepancies related to payroll taxes
• Resolve any payroll tax issues and respond to tax-related inquiries from various agencies
• Prepare weekly payroll Journal Entries
• Assist accounting department

• High School Diploma
• Basic accounting classes or accounting knowledge
• Proven experience as a Payroll Tax Specialist or similar role
• Multi-state payroll tax filings
• Problem-solving skills to address payroll tax issues or discrepancies and to develop efficient solutions
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel
• Excellent organizational skills and time-management skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, especially during quarter-end and year-end reporting periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
