We're partnering with a large, complex enterprise operating 24/7 across multiple facilities to hire a Director of IT Infrastructure & Network Engineering.

This is not a traditional IT leadership role — it's a high-impact transformation opportunity.

You'll sit at the intersection of strategy and execution, leading large-scale modernization across mission-critical infrastructure that supports hundreds of thousands of end users in a highly regulated environment.

The Opportunity

You'll lead two core engineering functions: Enterprise Networking (telecom, voice, radio, field communications) & Operational Technology (OT) Infrastructure across distributed physical environments. Which is composed of over 250 total inviduals mix of FTE and contractors.

What You'll Own

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

• Lead consolidation of two historically separate engineering orgs
• Drive zero-trust network transformation in partnership with security
• Identify structural gaps, resourcing needs, and delivery improvements
• Translate enterprise strategy into clear roadmaps + measurable outcomes
• Oversee enterprise + OT networking across a multi-site environment
• Ensure high availability, resilience, and security for 24/7 systems
• Own disaster recovery + business continuity planning
• Lead and develop senior managers and their engineering teams
• Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and engineering excellence
• Own headcount planning, performance management, and org design
• Drive adoption of AI and automation to improve efficiency
• Evaluate cloud networking, SaaS, and API-driven infrastructure
• Lead platform consolidation + optimization across legacy environmentsAct as a key partner to the CTO and senior leadership team
• Own operating + capital budgets, vendor strategy, and forecasting
• Present roadmap progress, risks, and investment strategy to executives

What We're Looking For

Leadership

• 10+ years in IT; 5+ years leading large, multi-functional teams
• 5+ years of those leadership being focused on networking telecom or OT infrastructure
• Experience leading org of atleast 75 individuals
• Proven success driving organizational change + transformation
• Experience operating at scale (large teams, high project volume)
• Strong executive presence — equally effective with engineers and leadership

Technical

• Strong background in networking, telecom, or OT infrastructure
• Experience with enterprise networking, DR/BC, or 24/7 operations
• Exposure to cloud networking / SaaS / modern infrastructure preferred
• Interest or experience in AI + automation is a big plus
• Background in regulated, complex environments (e.g., pharma, financial services, critical infrastructure, large-scale operations)
