The Role

We're looking for a Director of Events a skilled relationship-builder and closer who thrives at the intersection of hospitality, sales, and flawless execution. You'll be the face of Creature Coffee to our clients, guiding them from first conversation to signed contract and beyond, while ensuring every event detail is set up for success.

Phoenix is a brand new market for us and this role is at the center of it. You won't be stepping into an established territory you'll be building it! The speed and scale at which we grow is directly tied to your hustle, creativity, and ability to open doors, making this one of the most impactful roles in the company.

What You ll Do

  • Outreach: Proactively build your own lead list, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to establish Creature Coffee as the premier events coffee brand in the Phoenix market.
  • Lead Management: Manage the full lead pipeline, from lead outreach or inquiry to confirmed booking, ensuring every prospective client receives a timely and professional response.
  • Client Communication: Consult with clients to understand their event vision and confidently recommend coffee packages that elevate their experience.
  • Quotes and Contracts: Prepare and deliver accurate quotes, invoices, and contracts while managing the end-to-end payment process with professionalism and precision.
  • Networking: Represent Creature Coffee at industry events, client meetings, and online communities to build meaningful partnerships and expand our brand presence.
  • Event Coordinating: Oversee events from initial planning through day-of execution, ensuring every logistical detail is accounted for and every standard is met.
  • Lead with Excellence: Set clear expectations and uphold the highest standards across the team.
  • Client Experience: Act as a proactive, solutions-focused event professional who anticipates client needs.
  • Collaborate: Partner with the Director team to align on goals and execution and bring an adaptable, solutions-first mindset to every event, always putting client needs at the center.
  • Systems & Organization: ****Maintain clear records using Close CRM and Flashquotes to ensure accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Communicate Clearly: Utilize Slack and internal tools to keep information flowing effectively.
  • Innovate: Continuously improve our menu, brochure, systems, and client experience.
  • Represent Creature: Act as an ambassador for both Creature Coffee and the specialty coffee industry.
  • Barista Training: Complete your full Creature Coffee barista training so you know what the buzz is all about!
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of sales experience
  • 2+ years of management and training experience, ideally in a fast-paced or events-based setting
  • 1+ years of specialty coffee or event experience preferred
  • A confident, grounded leader who holds high standards and brings out the best in their team
  • Excellent communicator across all levels: leadership team, barista team and our clients
  • Proficient with tools such as Homebase, Notion, Slack, and Google Suite
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Current Food Handler's certificate
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented team player who thrives both independently and collaboratively
Compensation & Benefits Package

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with the following package:

  • Salary: $58,000 basic + bonus + commission, on target earnings $70,000

  • Health & Wellness Stipend: $3,000 per year ($115 bi-weekly)

  • PTO & Bank Holidays

    • 8 paid bank holidays

    • 3 weeks (Year 1)

    • 4 weeks (Year 2)

    • 5 weeks (Year 3)

      (accrued and transferable from your current role)

  • Paid Sick Leave: 10 days (80 hours) annually

  • Schedule: Office and event based work with occasional hybrid/remote flexibility

  • Equipment: Company laptop provided

  • Training & Development: Ongoing training, quarterly 1:1s, and annual performance reviews

  • Learning Tools: Blinkist subscription, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
