Our model blends flexibility, academic support, and a strong sense of community through live lessons, small-group instruction, and individualized intervention.Position OverviewColearn Academy is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Secondary Science Teacher to join our growing team. This full-time role serves middle and high school students in a virtual, home-based learning environment. The Secondary Science Teacher delivers engaging live instruction, supports at-home learning, and works closely with families to ensure students develop strong scientific thinking, inquiry skills, and content mastery across science disciplines.The ideal candidate is passionate about inclusion, skilled in virtual instruction, and committed to building strong relationships with families and students.ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging live and asynchronous instruction aligned with state standards for middle and high school scienceTeach science courses such as Physical Science, Life Science, Earth/Space Science, Biology, and other secondary science courses as assignedFoster students' skills in scientific inquiry, critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solvingDesign and support virtual labs, investigations, and hands‑on at-home science experiencesProvide timely, meaningful feedback on student work and maintain consistent communication with students and parentsSupport at-home learning by providing clear guidance, resources, and encouragement to familiesTrack student progress, identify learning gaps, and provide interventions in collaboration with support staffMaintain accurate gradebooks, attendance records, and documentation in the learning management systemCollaborate with the instructional team to ensure consistency across grade levels and vertical alignment of science instructionParticipate in virtual staff meetings, professional development, and training sessionsBuild positive relationships with students and families and contribute to a strong school communityQualificationsMust reside in ArizonaValid state teaching certification in Science (Middle Level and/or Secondary)Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred)Experience teaching middle and/or high school scienceStrong knowledge of state science standards and best practices for science instructionExperience with virtual or blended instruction (preferred)Ability to design and support virtual labs and inquiry-based learningStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to partner effectively with parents in a home-based learning modelExperience using learning management systems (Canvas, Schoology, or similar)Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and student-centered instruction#J-18808-Ljbffr
