Account Manager - Commercial Insurance

Description:

We are seeking a proactive and client-focused Commercial Insurance Account Manager to support and service a growing portfolio of small transportation and trucking clients. This role is ideal for an experienced commercial lines professional who is organized, responsive, and eager to learn the nuances of trucking risks.

Prior transportation insurance experience is not required; however, a strong foundation in commercial insurance coverages and a willingness to learn the industry are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on insurance coverages, products, and market trends to support the sales team
  • Analyze client needs and exposures for new business, renewals, and cross-selling opportunities
  • Market submissions to appropriate carriers and follow up on quotes
  • Respond to underwriter inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Review and compare carrier quotes for coverage accuracy and pricing
  • Prepare proposals and summaries of insurance coverage
  • Ensure adherence to commercial lines best practices, including proper documentation
  • Maintain accuracy within the agency management system
  • Process client requests promptly and professionally
  • Assist clients with claims reporting and coordinate with carriers
  • Collaborate with internal teams and support staff on accounts and projects

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active Property & Casualty license (required)
  • Strong understanding of commercial lines coverages (General Liability, Commercial Auto, Property, Workers Compensation, Umbrella, etc.)
  • Ability to manage a high volume of accounts in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Willingness to learn transportation/trucking coverages and regulations
  • Ability to stay current on industry trends, products, and compliance requirements

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience working with transportation or logistics clients
  • Familiarity with FMCSA filings (BMC-91, MCS-90, etc.)
  • Professional designations such as CISR or CIC
