Reports To: General Manager.

Classification: Full-Time, Hourly.

Required Certification: Valid Arizona Food Handler's Card.

Position Summary: The Barista Manager is responsible for leading daily barista operations while ensuring an exceptional guest experience, consistent beverage quality, and a clean, organized, and welcoming caf environment. This role combines hands-on beverage leadership with team support, coaching, and accountability. The Barista Manager sets the tone for hospitality, upholds service and quality standards, and helps create a positive, team-focused culture. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced caf setting, leads by example, and takes pride in delivering both operational excellence and outstanding guest service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead barista operations during daily service and act as a point of support for the team.
  • Set the standard for guest service, beverage quality, cleanliness, and professionalism.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and developing baristas to ensure consistency and confidence in performance.
  • Support management in reinforcing policies, procedures, and service expectations.
  • Help create a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture.
  • Address day-to-day issues calmly, professionally, and with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Prepare espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to recipes and caf standards.
  • Monitor beverage consistency, presentation, and speed of service during all shifts.
  • Ensure baristas are following proper brewing, steaming, pouring, and drink-building techniques.
  • Maintain high standards for product quality and guest satisfaction, especially during peak hours.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and beverage execution.
  • Provide a warm, polished, and attentive experience for every guest.
  • Answer menu questions, make recommendations, and handle guest concerns with professionalism.
  • Model strong hospitality and customer engagement for the team.
  • Ensure orders and payments are handled accurately through the POS system (Square).
  • Help foster an environment that encourages repeat guests and strengthens customer loyalty.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized bar and front-of-house environment at all times.
  • Ensure barista stations are stocked, prepared, and operating efficiently throughout the shift.
  • Oversee daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities and ensure completion by the team.
  • Support inventory awareness by communicating low-stock items, supply needs, or operational issues to management.
  • Assist with opening, shift transition, and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to maintain strong communication and smooth service flow.
  • Support other caf operations as needed based on business demands.
  • Partner with management to help maintain alignment on priorities, service needs, and staffing support.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a caf required.
  • Minimum of 3 year of general work experience required.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona Food Handler's Card, or obtain one before the first shift.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach and support team members in a constructive and professional manner.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to multitask, stay composed under pressure, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 30 pounds.
