Title: Accounting Specialist (Contract)

Employment Type: Contract (90 Days)

Pay: $29/hour

Location: Tempe, AZ

Position Summary

We are partnering with a growing organization in the Greater Phoenix area seeking an Accounting Specialist for a 90-day contract. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working across multiple accounting functions while supporting internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Manage check runs and ensure proper documentation
• Respond to vendor inquiries related to invoicing and payments
• Maintain and update accounts payable records
• Reconcile accounts payable to the general ledger on a monthly basis
• Assist with preparation and distribution of accounting reports
• Verify and post financial transactions, including disbursements and receipts
• Review invoices, expense reports, and supporting documentation for accuracy
• Maintain organized accounting files and documentation
• Support bank and financial statement reconciliations
• Assist with audits and resolve discrepancies as needed
• Partner with leadership on ad hoc reporting, projects, and KPI tracking
• Provide internal customer support related to accounting processes

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger processes
• Experience with accounting systems and Excel
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with vendors and internal teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
