Job Summary

The Production Planner I is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the flow of materials throughout the production cycle. This role ensures efficient coordination of materials, supports continuous production flow, and helps meet on-time delivery requirements. This is an entry-level position where the individual will work under supervision, performing routine tasks while developing foundational planning and production skills.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Plan, schedule, and monitor material movement through the production process
• Create, set up, and release work orders to ensure continuous production flow
• Coordinate material availability to meet customer delivery timelines

Material Coordination

• Ensure efficient movement of materials across production stages
• Track and monitor inventory and production status
• Support timely fulfilment of customer orders

Process Improvement & Reporting

• Identify and participate in process improvement opportunities
• Support tracking and reporting of key performance metrics
• Assist in improving operational efficiency and workflow

System & Tools Usage

• Utilize multiple systems and tools including:
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
• SAP and other production/planning systems
• Quickly learn and adapt to new software platforms

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Typically less than 1 year of relevant experience (entry-level role)

Skills

• Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic knowledge or exposure to SAP or similar systems (preferred)
• Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Dependable and able to follow instructions accurately
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
