A client in Tempe, AZ is looking for Logistics Specialists to join their team. This is a 4+ month contract with potential for extensions and permanent conversion based off of performance.

Logistics Specialist

Location: Tempe, AZ 85284 - hybrid - onsite 4 days/week

Duration: 4+month contract with potential for extensions/conversion

Pay Rate: $20.82/hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's Degree OR 2+ years of relevant professional experience
• Proficient experience using Excel (pivot tables, v lookups, formulas, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Must be a quick learner and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be comfortable coming into the office 4 days per week

Day to Day:

The Logistics Specialist supports end-to-end ocean container movements across 2 ports, serving as a key point of coordination between port terminals, terminal points of contact, and contracted carriers. This role oversees container tracking through a relay-based logistics program that leverages small, time-based trucking partners—similar to an Uber model for freight—using algorithm-driven load pricing to move containers efficiently between locations. Responsibilities include managing each leg of container movement, from out-gating at the port, transport to off-dock yards, delivery to fulfillment centers, and returning empty containers back to terminals for reloading. The ideal candidate brings a strong bias for action, thrives in a fast-paced operational environment, and has prior logistics, transportation, or operational training, particularly in roles where they were responsible for fixing process gaps or driving operational improvements.
