Description:

Green Evans-Schroeder is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Removal Defense Paralegal to join our immigration law practice. This position focuses exclusively on deportation defense and immigration court proceedings, supporting our attorneys in representing clients facing removal from the United States.Position OverviewThe Remote Removal Defense Paralegal will work closely with our legal team to prepare and manage removal defense cases, including detained and non-detained matters. This role requires expertise in immigration court procedures, EOIR filing systems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where clients' freedom and family unity are at stake.Key ResponsibilitiesRemoval Defense Case ManagementPrepare and file applications for relief from removal including cancellation of removal, asylum, withholding of removal, and protection under the Convention Against TortureDraft and file motions to reopen, motions to terminate, motions for change of venue, and other immigration court motionsPrepare comprehensive case packets for master calendar hearings and individual hearingsMaintain EOIR case tracking and monitor hearing dates, filing deadlines, and court schedulingCoordinate with ICE attorneys regarding prosecutorial discretion requests and case resolutionCourt Proceedings SupportPrepare attorneys for master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and individual/merits hearingsOrganize witness preparation materials and evidence exhibits for courtCompile country condition reports, expert witness declarations, and supporting documentationFile electronic submissions through EOIR's eRegistry system and maintain filing confirmationsMonitor immigration court decisions and assist with appeal preparation when neededClient Communication & Case DevelopmentConduct client intakes for removal defense cases, explaining court processes and relief optionsGather case-critical information including criminal history, family ties, and hardship evidenceMaintain regular communication with detained and non-detained clients regarding case statusCoordinate facility visits, telephonic client meetings, and family communicationPrepare clients and witnesses for testimony in immigration court proceedingsBond & Detention MattersPrepare bond applications and supporting documentationGather evidence demonstrating community ties, flight risk mitigation, and rehabilitationCoordinate with bondsmen and family members on bond arrangementsMonitor detained clients' case status and facility transfersDocumentation & File ManagementMaintain organized case files with court filings, evidence, and correspondencePrepare case status reports and deadline calendars for attorney review#J-18808-Ljbffr
