Network System Technician

Provides day to day installation, maintenance, adjustments, cabling and general trouble shooting for system operation. Essential duties and responsibilities generally include the following: performs (EMS) trouble shooting, repair, new construction, alterations or other maintenance tasks as directed by administration/supervisor. Performs repairs, alterations and other duties ranging from routine to highly complex. Regularly performs physically strenuous tasks. Prioritizes jobs at various school sites and office facilities. Communicates effectively and positively assists other staff members in performing construction duties and other maintenance tasks. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances and codes and PUSD policies and procedures. Knowledge of the principles of EMS practices and procedures. Knowledge of the principles of computer software programming and editing techniques. Knowledge of the principles of management, supervision and training. Knowledge of the principles of file and record management. Knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting and inventory control. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of technical testing instruments, hand and power tools and equipment. Skill in assessing, analyzing, troubleshooting, diagnosing and undertaking repairs and maintenance of EMS components. Skill in safely utilizing a variety of testing, hand and power tools and equipment. Skill in managing, assigning, prioritizing and evaluating work performance. Skill in preparing a variety of project and regulatory reports. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public and others having business with the school district. Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.

Minimum qualifications: Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Energy Management Systems or closely related field AND four (4) years of progressively responsible energy systems management, HVAC and/or electrical work or closely related responsibilities that includes one (1) year of management and/or supervision; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Other requirements: Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Must be able to pass a background clearance check. Must possess at time of application and must maintain a valid Arizona driver license. May be required to obtain and maintain HVAC and Electrical certifications. May be required to perform installation, maintenance and repair services while standing, stooping, bending, crawling, climbing, and working overhead. May be exposed to dangerous machinery, potential physical harm, extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, fumes, and infectious diseases. May be required to lift and/or carry heavy, bulky supplies, equipment, tools, parts, and materials weighing up to 40 pounds. May be required to work outside normal working hours. Will be required to travel to campuses to perform work functions.
