RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4-week period
• Holiday coverage based on unit coverage needs
• May be placed on standby for scheduled shifts
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in ICU, 4:1 ratio when floating to telemetry units
• Required to float between all ICU floors and telemetry units
• 2-shift floor-specific orientation required
• Must have Level 1 trauma experience and EVD (External Ventricular Drain) experience
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience in large facility (450+ beds) required
• 3-6 months travel experience preferred
• Strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting assignment (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Must maintain sterile field competency
• Natural hair color required, no facial piercings allowed
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Must have own vehicle for transportation
• Scrub color: steel grey for neuro floors
• Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips monitors
• Work with ventilators with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available
• Care for patients with neurological diagnoses requiring critical care including craniotomies, brain tumor removals, brain biopsies, and complex spine surgeries

The facility is a Level 1 trauma center with a 32-bed Neuro ICU that specializes in complex neurological procedures including craniotomies, brain tumor removal and ablations, brain biopsies, complicated spine surgeries, and scoliosis repair. The organization maintains high standards for patient care with comprehensive support services available around the clock.
