Location: Phoenix AZ 85034

Duration: 2 Months (6 weeks)

Shift: 09.00 pm - 06:00 am

Description:

  • This role is responsible for active safety monitoring during hot work and elevated work activities.
  • The individual will serve as a Fire Watch, Safety Watch, and Lift Spotter, ensuring protection from fire hazards, overhead work risks, and personnel exposure beneath active work zones.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Fire Watch Duties
  • Monitor all hot work activities (welding, brazing, grinding)
  • Watch for sparks, embers, and ignition risks
  • Stay on post 30–60 minutes after hot work is complete
  • Ensure fire extinguishers are present and ready
  • Immediately act on any signs of smoke or fire
  • Overhead Safety / "Underneath Work" Protection
  • Maintain a clear exclusion zone under all elevated work
  • Actively prevent personnel from walking or working beneath lifts, ladders, or overhead crews
  • Watch for falling objects, tools, materials, or debris
  • Ensure barricades, cones, or tape are properly set and maintained
  • Stop work or alert crews immediately if unsafe conditions develop
  • Lift Safety / Spotter Duties
  • Act as a spotter for scissor lifts, boom lifts, or overhead equipment
  • Maintain line-of-sight communication with lift operators
  • Watch for pinch points, obstructions, and pedestrian traffic
  • Ensure safe travel paths and positioning of lifts
  • Assist with safe movement in tight or active store environments

General Safety Responsibilities:

  • Maintain constant awareness is an active role, not passive
  • No phone use or distractions while on watch
  • Communicate hazards immediately to foreman or site leadership
  • Enforce safety standards and OSHA compliance
  • Support overall site safety culture and accountability
