Title: Service Desk Associate

Location: Onsite, 5 days/week
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday; rotating on-call every 3rd week (after first few months)
Pay Rate: $20-$22/hr

Summary:

We are seeking an Service Desk Technician with strong customer service skills and hands-on experience working with computers. Candidates with strong blend of technical troubleshooting and customer service excellence.

This role is fully onsite and heavily focused on supporting end-users in person, including C-Suite stakeholders. While much of the technical skillset can be taught on the job, strong communication, professionalism, and empathy are essential.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provide in-person and phone-based support for end-users
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10/11 and macOS workstations
  • Perform basic hardware setup including monitors, docks, keyboards, and mice
  • Assist with A/V setup for Zoom and conference-room sessions
  • Manage and prioritize incoming service desk tickets
  • Troubleshoot issues and work toward swift resolution
  • Collaborate with team members and work onsite in a Help Desk environment
  • Deliver high-quality customer service with empathy and professionalism
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule (every 3rd week; overtime applies)
Must-Have Skills

Service Desk Background
  • Experience installing and maintaining Windows 10/11 and/or macOS
  • Basic hardware support and workstation setup
  • Experience supporting A/V sessions (Zoom, conference rooms)
Ticket Management
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a ticket queue
  • Staying organized and on task
Customer Service (Top Priority)
  • Strong communication skills for in-person and phone support
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism
  • Comfortable engaging with C-Suite users
Team Collaboration
  • Ability to work onsite with a team
  • Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with MDM tools (PDQ, SmartDeploy, Jamf)
  • Exposure to Linux operating systems
  • Basic familiarity with command-line tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
