Job Summary and Responsibilities

The patient resource tech performs a variety of duties in support of patient care and hospital operations. When functioning as a patient sitter, the staff member provides 24 hour coverage making observations of any problems the patient may beexperiencing while assuring patient safety in the designated hospital clinical units. When functioning as a transportation aide, the staff member transports patients, equipment and other supplies within hospital, completes appropriate forms of tracking transportation assignments and assists department in restocking supplies and day setups. When Functioning as a hospital entry screener, the staff member is responsible for greeting and screening individuals who enter the facility, including patients, visitors and employees. The screening process will determine the individual's eligibility for entry into the facility and will be based on the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines and hospital policy.

• Remains present with patient and has visual observation at all times
• Removes all personal items
• Places patient in red gown
• Adheres to Sitter Guidelines and Standards of Care for patient care populations served
• Communication
• Reports all behavior changes to nurse

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate general studies, upon hire or
• High School GED general studies, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare
