Accounting & Finance Contractor

This role plays a key support role within the Finance Department, assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions. This position also provides interim coverage for other finance roles as needed during staff PTO or absences.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

  • Collect, verify, and process monthly project billing information
  • Prepare and issue project and miscellaneous invoices as needed
  • Process customer payments and related banking transactions
  • Obtain and manage lien waivers required for project funding
  • Assist with preliminary notices and vendor compliance documentation
  • Research and resolve customer account inquiries and payment discrepancies
  • Monitor and report on delayed or delinquent payments
  • Maintain accurate billing and payment records

Accounts Payable

  • Process invoices and review purchase orders for accuracy
  • Verify monthly vendor statements and respond to inquiries
  • Support vendor compliance, including W-9s and certificates of insurance (COIs)
  • Audit subcontractor compliance prior to releasing payments
  • Assist with year-end payable audits, 1099 preparation, and account reconciliations
  • Set up new vendor profiles and assist with system maintenance

General Accounting

  • Support job setup and project change orders
  • Assist with entry of sub-subcontracts
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and financial documentation
