Laborer

Will perform general laboring, maintenance, and cleaning tasks at Fort McDowell Yavapai Materials (FMYM) facilities.

Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.

Perform laboring tasks including shoveling material as needed.

Collect, remove, and dispose of trash both in buildings and on the grounds.

Minor repair jobs, as directed by supervisor.

Basic maintenance tasks of equipment and structures including, but not limited to, cleaning and greasing.

Removing weeds and clipping brush on the grounds.

Other tasks may be directed by the supervisor.

Must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical.

Capable of lifting, pulling, and pushing 50-75 pounds.

Minimum age of 18 years.

Able to complete initial MSHA training.

Must wear suitable work attire including safety-toed boots.

Exposure to extreme dust and heat.

Able to drive a standard transmission vehicle.

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

None - will train.

Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are members of federally recognized Indian tribes. To be considered for Indian Preference, you must submit your Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) with your application.
