As our Records Assistant, you will provide research and organizational support to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. With a careful eye for detail, you will research case and court documents and utilize multiple file management systems to audit and correct case data. You will also use excellent communication skills to coordinate successfully with the case's managing bureau.

We Require
One year of clerical and/or administrative experience
High school diploma or GED
Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid ArizonaDriver'slicenseby the time of hire

Experience in a law office, judicial, court, or law enforcement environment
Job Contributions
Organize case files for destruction and storage
Provide quality control, update or include missing case information, and destructed information into the Maricopa County Attorney's Office internal databases, Prosecutor by Karpel
Research case information from various databases, including PbK, County Attorney Information System, ICIS Justice Court database, ICIS Superior Court database, and OnBase, among others
Order file requests, which include procuring, receiving, inspecting, distributing, inventorying, moving, maintaining, and disposing of criminal records files
Archive and maintain an inventory of certified priors and digital media for new and existing materials from criminal cases
Escort recycling bins for secure shredding processes
Sort, track, and process the record department mail
Keep track of work statistics for monthly reports and other internal office audit reports
Working Conditions
Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities
Ability to travel to and from various county locations for meetings and trainings, utilizing personal or county vehicles
Ability to lift boxes and pull mail carts weighing over 40 lbs.
Ability to bend/reach/climb a small ladder to archive materials onto 7-foot-high shelves.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs; drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement
A hybrid or alternative work schedule can be considered after your first 6 months of employment. This is based on the business needs at the time of the request
