Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated Billing Customer Service Representative. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage patient inquiries and complaints, handle billing issues, and ensure the appropriate documentation from providers and patients is collected to maintain quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive 30-60 calls from patients and providers regarding payment issues, service issues, and insurance data updates.
  • Make outbound calls to insurance companies and doctors' offices as needed.
  • Determine the nature of calls and document them in the claim system using appropriate reason codes.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to billing issues efficiently while managing a phone queue.
  • Process payments over the phone or set up payment plans with patients.
  • Navigate through multiple windows, tabs, and screens effectively.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED/transcripts.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Call Center/Contact Center environment, particularly working in a phone queue.
  • Strong phone presence and customer service skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with medical billing terminology.
  • Understanding Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, Monday to Friday, within the hours of 7am to 5:30pm.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required, with additional hours paid on a case-by-case basis, though never on weekends.
