Billing Specialist

Start Date: 3/16/26

Pay: $18-$19/HR

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm MST

Position Overview

As a Billing Specialist at Aveanna, you play a key role in ensuring our patient accounts are handled accurately and thoroughly, with the goal of collecting the highest possible reimbursement on every billed account. You'll work closely with branch teams while proactively following up with all payers to ensure timely and complete payment.

This includes managing claims across primary, secondary, tertiary, and any additional payers, as well as guarantors, for services provided. You'll handle accounts involving commercial insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid, and private pay.

This role is essential to our mission-your work directly supports the financial stability that allows Aveanna to continue delivering high-quality home healthcare to the patients and families we serve!

The Right Fit Is:
  • Someone who is comfortable with working on the collecting of deliquent A/R accounts
  • Organized and self sufficient to accurately complete data entry tasks daily and in a timely manner for all accounts that are worked on
  • Comfortable working towards daily and monthly metric and KPI goals
  • Confidence in your ability to learn new computer programs and software
Remote Work Requirements:
  • Ability to maintain a quiet, dedicated workspace that is free of background noise and ongoing distractions
  • Ability to participate in virtual meetings with a professional, camera-ready presence
  • Ability to demonstrate strong time-management skills, as well as accountability and self-direction
  • Must be able to operate off reliable, high-speed internet
Position Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a call center environment
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in the medical industry/ familiarity with medical terminology (preferably with DME and Home Healthcare)
  • High-school diploma or GED
