The Opportunity

As a Property Claims Adjuster Specialist, you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle complex property insurance claims while upholding established guidelines. This is a remote position, suitable for candidates residing or willing to relocate to the continental U.S. time zones of Pacific, Mountain, or Central, with occasional business travel.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a caseload of complex property claims, ensuring understanding of relevant claims coverage and potential liabilities.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal partners to facilitate resolution of claims, including necessary regulatory compliance.
  • Research and investigate damages through various sources, identifying any discrepancies and subrogation opportunities.
  • Determine coverage concerns and conduct thorough reviews of prior loss history to create Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals when needed.
  • Negotiate settlements within authority limits and coordinate with management for cases requiring larger settlements.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation throughout the claims process.
  • Utilize advanced estimating technology and virtual inspection tools effectively to prepare claims estimates.
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe operations, including occasional mandatory on-call duties and work during evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • Handle various claims types, providing solutions to complex problems independently while assisting junior colleagues.
  • Adjust claims involving attorney involvement and navigate jurisdictional challenges effectively.
  • Travel may be required for claims resolution, training, or in-person inspections.
  • Ensure all business activities comply with risk and compliance policies.

What you have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of relevant property claims adjusting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of loss estimation using Xactimate or similar tools.
  • Proficient knowledge of residential construction and property claims contracts.
  • Strong negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the year and work on-call as needed.
  • Must secure an insurance adjuster license within 90 days upon hiring.

What sets you apart:

  • Military experience or connections through service or family.
  • Five years of experience handling complex property losses.
  • Experience with virtual claim adjusting technologies.
  • Industry certifications such as AINS, CPCU, AIC, SCLA are a plus.
  • Currently active Adjuster License.
  • Willingness to relocate if not currently in specified time zones.

Physical Demand Requirements:

  • Ability to inspect confined spaces and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • May need to meet driving requirements, including valid driver's license.
  • Ability to climb and traverse roofs and ladders as required.

Compensation range: $69,920.00 - $133,620.00.
