Job Overview:AFW is looking for an energetic Warehouse Associate who is ready to multitask and provide excellent customer service to our customers. This individual will pick and pull merchandise, load and unload merchandise to and from other AFW facilities, load out customers in a safe and efficient manner, and any other task as asked by the AFW management team.Compensation:Pay Rate: Starting at $17/hour and up - dependent on experienceMid Shift Premium - Additional $1.00/hr, 3rd shift Premium - Additional $2.00/hr and Weekend Premium - Additional $2.00/hrPay Grade A: $16.00-$26.91At AFW we offer great perks like: weekly pay, benefits package (medical, dental, vision) and 401k matching!Job Requirements* Able to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.* Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision.* Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker preferred but not required.* Knowledge of the correct lifting/team lifting techniques, and the ability to perform the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.* Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.* Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.* Ability to be trained on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).* Ability to operate a forklift and order picker for pulling and putting away stock, order processing, loading, and unloading trailers.Job Expectations:* Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and ability to promote safety awareness.* Greet customers promptly and professionally.* Able to break down merchandise inside trailers/containers - unstack and position merchandise for removal from trailers/containers.* Wrap, load, and secure merchandise into the customer's vehicle without damaging the merchandise or the vehicle.* Able to confirm that customer receives correct merchandise.* Able to inspect AFW rental vehicles and fill out the appropriate paperwork.* Uncrate and re-create merchandise for inspection when requested.* Identifying and reading reports, tickets, and UPC labels.* Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.* Operate material handling equipment to move products within the warehouse.* Able to operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.* Able to correctly use a hand truck.* Able to safely handle product from 0 to 35 feet above the ground.* Able to safely transfer products to and from pallets.* Inspect all power equipment and complete the Vehicle Inspection Report before operation.* Adhere to the AFW asset protection policies and identify and prevent fraud.* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.* Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.* All training provided by AFWPhysical Requirements:* Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.* Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.* Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.* Requires lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. frequently and ability to handle/manipulate up to 250 lbs. frequently.* The Warehouse Associate position requires lifting, griping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.Physical Work Environment:* Fluorescent Lighting* Concrete Flooring* Climate affected by outside conditions* Considerable exterior noise* Extreme temperature fluctuations in the warehouseIf you want to know more about American Furniture Warehouse and what we do click on the link below!
