Job Responsibilities:
• Candidate mustbe able to function in a variety of office environments as well as a forensic lab environment.
• Candidate must be able to safely lift a variety of hardware and software, some equipment and workstations may weigh 50+ lbs.
• Follow proper evidence media handling and chain-of-custody procedures with precision.
• Be able to quickly troubleshoot, diagnose, fix, reimage, and maintain Windows PC and Apple Macintosh workstations.
• Be able to assist IT teams with networking tasks.
• Document procedures and findings of each case and enter into project management system.
• Respond to media connection requests quickly to support remote team members.
• Assist with maintaining and shipping remote collection kits and collection media.
• Effectively problem solve and troubleshoot in response to issues that may arise.
• Be willing to learn, research, utilize and maintain proficiency in methods, tools, and trends in data collection, digital forensics, and e-discovery.
• Research, test, and recommend various software and hardware products.
• Assist Digital Forensic team members, as needed.
• Assist the Forensics Lab Manager with U.S. lab operations and quality control initiatives.
Professional Skills:
• Proven ability to communicate and convey technical information effectively and concisely to a wide variety of audiences including clients, attorneys, and IT professionals.
• Requires strong multi-tasking, organizational, writing, briefing, analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and quality is crucial.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment and effectively manage time in order to meet strict deadlines and time constraints.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Technical Skills:
• Demonstrated experience working with Windows PC systems in an IT environment. Demonstrated experience working with Apple Macintosh systems is a plus.
• Experience and knowledge of computer systems, mobile device hardware, basic network architecture, and various operating systems.
• Previous hands-on experience with electronic data collection related to e-discovery and/or working in a forensic lab or evidence management environment (e.g., law enforcement evidence room) is a plus.
• IT system management (Deskside support, networking, server management, etc.) experience is preferred.
• Associates or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or closely related field is strongly preferred.
