The Correspondence Specialist plays a vital role in our organization by addressing and responding to inquiries from borrowers, attorneys, authorized third-parties, and others. This position involves managing various types of communication, including verbal complaints and general correspondence, in accordance with our company guidelines and relevant regulations. The pay range for this role is between $23.50/hr and $25.50/hr.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing incoming written inquiries that may not directly relate to mortgage servicing.

  • Conducting factual analyses of loan information to determine the appropriate response.

  • Collaborating with other departments to find suitable solutions when needed.

  • Drafting customized responses or using standard templates to communicate essential information and resolutions.

  • Handling escalated verbal complaints received from our Customer Contact Division.

  • Assisting Legal and other departments by composing and sending necessary correspondence.

  • Providing administrative support to the Dispute Team and other areas as required.

  • Ensuring adherence to established company policies and procedures.

  • Utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiently.

  • Exhibiting strong analytical skills and flexibility in problem-solving.

  • Managing time effectively and maintaining organizational skills.

  • Interacting with senior management professionally.

  • Understanding and applying both oral and written instructions effectively.

  • Communicating routine and factual information clearly.

  • Resolving complex problems collaboratively while exploring alternative solutions.

  • Applying common sense in job functions and decision-making.

  • Making impactful decisions to uphold the department's credibility and service quality.

  • Organizing thoughts and ideas to create clear, understandable communications.

  • Composing letters effectively.

  • Prioritizing work schedules daily.

  • Performing basic mathematical operations and ensuring accuracy in results.

  • Following basic instructions and guidelines diligently.

What you need to bring:

  • A combination of education and experience that fits the requirements.

  • A high school diploma or GED is required, with college education preferred.

  • At least two years of relevant experience in mortgage banking or the financial industry.
