As an Entertainment Automation Specialist, you will oversee the operation of stage automation systems at the Walt Disney Theater. This includes managing the movement of scenic elements during our spectacular Broadway-style shows and maintaining ship-wide automation and rigging systems for various events.
You will report to the Senior Technician WDT.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate the Entertainment Automation Systems at the Walt Disney Theater, ensuring seamless movement of scenic elements during performances.
Maintain and ensure the safe operation of all rigging equipment utilized in outdoor events and shows.
Train for various outdoor rigging positions, ensuring safety and proper operation during productions.
Contribute actively to the WDT Theater Team through load in and load out processes, cast changeovers, new show installations, equipment testing, vendor support, movie premieres, and company events.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of experience in show production in a similar role.
Hands-on experience with computerized automation control systems.
Familiarity with theatrical/entertainment rigging operations.
Proficient in hydraulics, electronics, electric motors, motor drives and controls, and both manual and automated rigging devices.
Ability to work at heights and handle heavy equipment safely.

You must:

Be prepared to follow safety protocols and emergency responsibilities as outlined in the ship Assembly Plan.
Adhere to general safety management requirements as specified within areas under your control.
If necessary, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and embrace a multicultural work environment that follows strict regulations.
Your Responsibilities:
Possess a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (documents will be provided for obtaining these).
Complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
Obtain a criminal background check.
Bring approved work shoes onboard.
Note: Disney Cruise Line maintains a drug-free workplace. New hires must complete drug and alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass may result in immediate termination.
