Job Description

As a Laser Print Operator on the overnight shift, you will play a vital role in our production process. This position involves executing data manipulation on our computer network, initiating production jobs, and ensuring timely laser printing on specialized printer equipment. You will stage printed jobs in the production area to facilitate a seamless workflow and help meet our customer delivery deadlines while upholding high-quality standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Collaborate closely with Facility Managers and Production Supervisors to address customer directives, delivery needs, and any issues with data or special files, ensuring accurate and efficient printing.
• Communicate effectively with team members, project coordinators, and management to follow daily job schedules and understand the specific needs of our customers.
• Multi-task efficiently by managing multiple printers and jobs concurrently to streamline the production workflow.
• Utilize the ERP system to log time and materials while adhering to departmental Total Cost Management practices.
• Maintain an organized and up-to-date work order system and keep accurate records of jobs printed and checked.
• Ensure high-quality printing standards are consistently met by conducting regular checks of printed jobs.
• Assist in maintaining equipment by coordinating service requests with the appropriate technicians.
• Keep track of inventory levels and ensure items are stored correctly in the warehouse and front shelving units.
• Monitor data arrival from customers, notifying supervisors of any delays for timely resolution.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhere to safety rules, and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Be open to working overtime or different shifts as required by operational needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Regular attendance and compliance with company policies regarding a drug-free workplace and safety are essential.

Qualifications:

Physical Demands

• Stand for approximately 2/3 to full time during shifts.
• Handle and manipulate items using hands and fingers for 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift.
• Reach with arms 1/3 to 2/3 of the time on the job.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds is required for 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift.
• Close vision (20 inches or less) and color vision (ability to distinguish colors) are necessary.

Additional Requirements

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• Able to exemplify and uphold Vestcom's core values.
