Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking an organized and energetic Purchasing & Receiving Clerk to join the team of our upscale hotel. Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU provides Tempe with 36,000 square feet of event space and multiple food and beverage outlets. Featuring a rooftop upscale restaurant and the largest ballroom in the area, we provide tremendous options for our guests for dining and entertainment.
Work closely with all departments to ensure packages are picked up from the dock in a timely manner.
Audit package storeroom daily to identify packages that guests should have picked up.
Receives all courier deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Logs all packages received within one hour of receipt.
Delivers all packages to Sales, Catering, Accounting and Executive Offices.
Fills and delivers all food requisitions for supplies to departments.
Inspect and unpack all merchandise received, and stocks/stores it.
Strictly adheres to the operating hours of the storerooms.
Checks requisitions for proper authorization.
Maintains efficiency within Birchstreet to catch ordering variances, tax variances, and inventory accuracy.
Assist with PO closing and invoice processing.
Assists in the inspection of the refrigeration units and brings to attention any deviation from the set temperatures as well as any deterioration of the quality of the perishables (record temperature on a daily log).
Responsible for the cleaning of all storerooms and coolers/walk in.
Follow/adhere to Omni Hotels operating procedures and local health regulations.
Start a list for out of stocks/goods and not received "items" so that follow-up can be made.
Verify that no requisitions are left open (all requisitions should be completed and closed out).
Perform other functions as required by the Procurement Manager.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working in a hotel purchasing department strongly preferred.
Previous Food & Beverage and/or AP experience is preferred.
Computer proficiency, specifically with Birchstreet and Excel is preferred.
Requires frequent standing, bending, reaching overhead and squatting.
Frequent Lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance and 100 lbs with assistance.
This role will work in both the interior and exterior of the hotel, with exposure to extreme heat and cold.
Potential exposure to various hazardous chemicals and cleaners.
Must have the ability to operate a hand truck, lift-jack, and dolly.
