CLASSIFICATION: Classified Hourly

REPORTS TO: Procurement & Asset Supervisor

SUMMARY: Maintains inventory control and all fixed asset procedures.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Enter and monitor all assets on District Finance Accounting System in Fixed Assets module
  2. Review account coding on requisitions pertaining to fixed asset acquisitions
  3. Set useful life, depreciate all assets, and provide reconciliation documents and depreciation schedules
  4. Coordinates GASB 34 compliance issues and ensures that all audit requirements are met.
  5. Utilizes software applications to optimize accounting, reconciling, reporting, and communication functions
  6. Perform timely physical inventories and schedules regular internal audit reviews
  7. Coordinate tagging of capital and stewardship assets
  8. Coordinate District surplus procedures
  9. Develop, implement, and analyze District property control procedures; maintain the inventory control process that will ensure compliance with District policies and procedures, procurement code, USFR, and any state or federal laws or regulations while concurrently providing fiscal accountability.
  10. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
  11. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  12. Deliver and pick up warrants and vouchers to and from the district to the county.
  13. Deliver Governing Board packets.
  14. Deliver and pick up inter-office and inter-school mail and other items as needed.
  15. Deliver other official District mail.
  16. Stamp outgoing mail.
  17. Sort District postal mail.
  18. Other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology for data entry and knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to use office equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge in fixed assets procedures and accountability from acquisitions through transfers.
  • Ability to bend, carry and lift 50 pounds, push and pull 50 pounds and stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • English proficiency required to read and interpret schedules, memos, and addresses and to communicate with co-workers.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to maintain a safe working environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Some of the work is performed in an office or school setting. Some of the work requires driving to schools, county and state education departments, and businesses.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month year, Classified Hourly Salary Schedule (Level E), employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.

EVALUATION:
Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of certified staff.

SALARY
Classified Hourly Salary Schedule. Level E | Entry Level: $17.50/hr
