Parts Runner (Maintenance)

The Parts Runner will be responsible for pick-up and delivery of parts as needed from area vendors or central deliver hub and deliver to designated plants as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Pick-up and delivery of parts as needed from area vendors or central deliver hub and deliver to designated plants as necessary
• Prioritize timing and location of delivery runs and consolidation of trips to best minimize time and mileage to meet the specific needs of each plant
• Maintain daily log of trips and records of pick-ups/deliveries
• Responsible for daily inspection of company provided delivery vehicle (pre/post trip)
• Coordinate regular maintenance and repairs, as necessary
• Communicate with Parts Coordinator and Fleet Manager/Foreman and plants regularly to ensure timely delivery of parts and meet needs as they arise
• Cleaning purchasing area, shop office, lunch room, bathroom, and other areas deemed necessary by Fleet Manager or Parts Coordinator and helping mechanics with greasing of the fleet
• Maintaining order and inventory of parts rooms at all locations

Education:

High School Diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license; clean driving record
• Strong communication skills (both verbal/written)
• Ability to work independently and with little supervision
• Ability to plan and prioritize deliveries for the day
• Job requires the following motions: bending (frequent), lifting (frequent up to 50 lbs. / occasional 75), sitting (frequent), squatting(frequent), climbing (occasional), driving (frequent)
• Ability to work cooperatively with others (i.e. managers, prospective / current employees, vendors, etc.)

Conditions of Employment:

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
