Edible Production Technician

  2025-12-14     Nirvana Center Dispensaries     Tempe,AZ
Description:

Join the Nirvana Cannabis Edibles Production Team

Nirvana Cannabis is growing, and we are seeking motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our edibles production department. This team plays a vital role in crafting high-quality infused products for wholesale distribution. We are excited to welcome individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy being part of a collaborative environment, and are eager to build a long-term career in one of the nation's fastest-growing industries.

The Role: Edible Production Technician

The Edibles Production Technician is an essential contributor to our infused product manufacturing operations. Working closely with the production team, this position ensures that all edible products meet our internal quality standards and state compliance requirements. Technicians support each stage of the edible production cycle by preparing ingredients, operating equipment, documenting batch data, and maintaining a sanitary work environment. This position is well-suited for individuals who are dependable, organized, and naturally attentive to detail, especially those who enjoy hands-on work within a food-safe setting.

What the Position Involves

Edibles Production Technicians take part in the hands-on creation of a wide range of cannabis-infused products, including gummies, chocolates, baked goods, and other consumables. They follow established production schedules and standard operating procedures to maintain consistent output throughout the shift. Daily responsibilities include accurately measuring, weighing, and preparing ingredients according to formulation guidelines; mixing, cooking, or depositing edible products; and operating equipment such as mixers, cookers, depositors, scales, labelers, and packaging machinery. While performing these tasks, technicians carefully monitor texture, temperature, and consistency to ensure proper formulation and product quality.

In addition to manufacturing tasks, technicians assist with packaging finished edibles into compliant containers while ensuring labels, batch information, and packaging meet all regulatory standards. They are responsible for conducting visual inspections and quality checks to identify inconsistencies, defects, or deviations. Accurate documentation is essential, and technicians maintain detailed records of ingredient usage, batch information, and production notes. Maintaining a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment is also a crucial part of the role, as all tasks must be performed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and established safety protocols. Production Technicians are expected to work cohesively with the team, communicate effectively, and support additional tasks as assigned by production leadership.

Skills and Attributes for Success

To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced setting. Dependability and teamwork are essential, as is a commitment to following established procedures in a highly regulated, food-safe environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar software is helpful, and prior experience in food production, cannabis manufacturing, commercial kitchen work, or other fast-paced environments is considered an advantage, though not required.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or GED is required. While previous experience in edible production, food manufacturing, cannabis manufacturing, or warehouse environments is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates with experience working in structured or compliance-driven environments will be especially well prepared. Knowledge of cannabis regulations, food-safe practices, or manufacturing procedures is beneficial but can be learned on the job.

Physical Requirements

This role involves continuous physical activity. Candidates should be comfortable standing and walking for prolonged periods, lifting up to 50 pounds as needed, and performing repetitive motions common in food production. Portions of the workday may involve warmer environments due to cooking or depositing edible products.
