Job Title: Accounting Specialist I for Manufacturer - Not Remote Work

From re-enterable wraparound to pull-through jacketing, and from snap button to continuous zipper closures, we have solutions to meet the needs of a wide range of industries and application requirements.

We are currently seeking an Accounting Specialist I for our manufacturing company based in Chandler, AZ. Available day shift Monday - Friday, great hours, competitive benefits, and so much more. This position is to be filled immediately with the qualified candidate.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, expense reports, credit card purchases, obtaining approvals, and processing outgoing wires, ACH and checks according to the schedules, resolve discrepancies by investigating documentation. Reconcile and record monthly freight charges along with auditing freight bills as to what was billed to customers.
  • Reconcile and record monthly credit card activity.
  • Ensure all documentation is received for new vendors.
  • Assist with accounts receivable activities, such as invoicing, posting payments, customer credit check, maintaining the resale certificate file.
  • Perform weekly collection calls for Accounts Receivables.
  • Assists accounting team in other areas when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by the department manager or executive management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional organizational skills, thorough accuracy, effective written and verbal communication skills, deadline driven, strong problem-solving skills, ability to work well with numbers and data, work independently, self-starter, energetic.
  • Strong understanding of debits and credits and accounting fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in accounting (Required)
  • Minimum of 2 + years of accounting experience, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), bank reconciliations, bookkeeping, and transactional accounting.
  • Accounting Clerk Experience 2 + years (Required)
  • Manufacturing Accounting Experience (Preferred)

Schedule:

  • Full Time
  • 10 Hour Day Shift
  • Monday to Thursday (6:00am – 4:30pm)
  • Off on most Friday's, Saturday's & Sunday's
  • Location: Chandler Blvd., and I-10 Area

Cognitive and Physical Demands

The Accounting Specialist I must demonstrate cognitive ability to, follow directions and routines, work independently with appropriate judgment, exhibit spatial awareness, read words and numbers, concentrate, memorize, and recall, identify logical connections and determine sequence of response and process up to 2-3 steps ahead. Ability to attend work on a regular, predictable and consistent basis and to commute to and from work safely and arrive at work on time.

While performing the duties of this job the employee will work in a multi-occupied office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

The position involves walking, climbing stairs, sitting, talking, and hearing throughout the 8-10 hour shift. Physical Demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a step ladder as necessary.
