Water Operations Supervisor
The City of Scottsdale is looking for a dedicated Water Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of our essential water systems. This position plans, organizes and directly supervises employees performing operation, maintenance, and repair of the City's water facilities, Distribution or Collection systems and the electronic/electrical/technology systems.
Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $103,708.80/annually.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent.
- Must have at least one year of Lead or Supervisory experience.
- Five years of experience in an operation and maintenance of advanced and complex water production, treatment or distribution systems.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
- Preferred: Two years of college coursework in engineering, chemistry, water or wastewater technology or a related field.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements:
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
- Completion of a one-time training requirement that includes 60 minutes of alcohol misuse training and 60 minutes of controlled substance use training, in accordance with FMCSA regulation 49 CFR 382.603 within 60 days of hire.
- Must possess upon hire or promotion Grade 1 operator certifications from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in Water or Wastewater depending on the assignment. The certifications for the Utility Technology Water assignment must include one in Water Treatment and Water Distribution.
- Must obtain within one year of hire or promotion and maintain a Grade 2 operator certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in Water or Wastewater. The certifications for the Utility Technology Water assignment must include one in Water Treatment and Water Distribution.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
