What Youll Be Doing

• Collaborate with management to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures


• Identify potential hazards and risks associated with equipment, processes, and work areas


• Conduct safety training sessions for employees; ensure new hires receive proper safety orientation and provide ongoing safety education and awareness to promote a strong safety culture


• Regularly inspect the facility, equipment, and work areas to identify potential safety hazards and/or non?compliance with food and safety standards


• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near?misses to determine the root causes and implement preventative measures


• Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive behavior among employees; communicate safety?related information, updates, and reminders


• Partner with HR team on coordination of Workers Compensation requirements and activities


• Oversee organizational efforts to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with environmental regulations


• Develop departmental safety key performance indicators


• Prepare and maintain safety records and reports


• Stay current with changes in safety regulations and best practices


• Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety procedures are followed

What Youve Done And Who You Are

• Bachelors degree in occupational safety and health, environmental health, or a related field. CSP or OHST certifications preferred


• 5-7 years of applicable job experience in a manufacturing environment


• Ability to lead others through influence


• Computer proficiency with MS Office


• Razor?sharp problem?solving skills


• Able to systematize and churn through a large volume of information and responsibilities


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


• Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines


• Proven aptitude to manage many competing projects and priorities


• Able to move fluidly between collaborative and independent work styles


• Adept at making assessments quickly and identifying the best course of action

Physical Demands

• Constant periods standing and walking through production and warehouse spaces


• Regular periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer


• Must be able to work near food ingredients and exposure to food allergens


• Location: inside an air?conditioned manufacturing and warehouse environment
