What Youll Be Doing
- Collaborate with management to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Identify potential hazards and risks associated with equipment, processes, and work areas
- Conduct safety training sessions for employees; ensure new hires receive proper safety orientation and provide ongoing safety education and awareness to promote a strong safety culture
- Regularly inspect the facility, equipment, and work areas to identify potential safety hazards and/or non?compliance with food and safety standards
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near?misses to determine the root causes and implement preventative measures
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive behavior among employees; communicate safety?related information, updates, and reminders
- Partner with HR team on coordination of Workers Compensation requirements and activities
- Oversee organizational efforts to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with environmental regulations
- Develop departmental safety key performance indicators
- Prepare and maintain safety records and reports
- Stay current with changes in safety regulations and best practices
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety procedures are followed
What Youve Done And Who You Are
- Bachelors degree in occupational safety and health, environmental health, or a related field. CSP or OHST certifications preferred
- 5-7 years of applicable job experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lead others through influence
- Computer proficiency with MS Office
- Razor?sharp problem?solving skills
- Able to systematize and churn through a large volume of information and responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proven aptitude to manage many competing projects and priorities
- Able to move fluidly between collaborative and independent work styles
- Adept at making assessments quickly and identifying the best course of action

Physical Demands
- Constant periods standing and walking through production and warehouse spaces
- Regular periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to work near food ingredients and exposure to food allergens
- Location: inside an air?conditioned manufacturing and warehouse environment
- You must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
