Description

Scope and Purpose:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of administrative and accounting work for the accounting operations. Responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable and/or monthly billing (i.e., members). Performs a variety of detailed accounting duties in accordance with standard accounting procedures. Checks and verifies data for completeness and accuracy. Provides assistance in maintaining a variety of financial transactions and records, compiling information and preparing reports and/or summaries.

Essential Functions:

• Processes Accounts Receivable including:
  • Monthly member billing
  • Apply member payments to appropriate files.
• Processes Accounts Payable including:
  • Collect invoices and verify required approvals prior to processing
  • Post invoices into the accounting software
  • Process checks for payments.
• Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential.
• Back-up: Sorts and distribute mail. Open mail and determine level of priority.
• Assists Controller and Assistant Controller with accounting-related tasks.
• Performs any combination of following: Calculating, posting and/or verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
• Handle inquiries from internal/external sources such as vendors, members, personnel, customers.
  • Researches and analyzes information to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Seeks assistance/guidance from others, as required.

• Create and maintain electronic and paper filing and follow-up systems.
• Ability to cross-train and back-up on other accounting-related tasks.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Applied knowledge of accounting processes, including AR, AP, cash/credit cards, POS systems, month-end processing and various other accounting related tasks
• Mathematical abilities.
• Ability to analyze and correct errors in a logical manner.
• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate effectively with Golf Club Members, employees and Managers at all levels of the organization verbally as well as in writing.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc), standard POS systems
• Exceptional guest service and public relations skills
• Ability to perform professionally in a high volume, high profile, demanding environment

Physical Requirements:

Constant sitting, computer work, reaching, grasping, hearing, seeing, and talking. Occasional standing, walking, pushing/pulling/lifting up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Work environment is typical of a climate-controlled administrative office. The office is attached to a maintenance shop which creates occasional odors of machinery fluids and gas. Inventory storage areas may be dusty.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Recent college graduate preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years experience in a similar accounting position required. Previous hospitality experience preferred.
• Position based out of AZ Biltmore Golf Club area (Phoenix) but may need to drive to Wigwam Golf Club (Litchfield Park) on occasion
• A valid Arizona Driver License
