As the Plant Manager at Baked Bros, you will oversee all daily plant operations, ensuring seamless coordination across Inventory & Purchasing, Production, Packaging, QA/QC, and Facilities teams. You will hire, train, and develop leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. You will ensure production meets sales demand while maintaining high product quality and compliance with state laws. You'll drive cost reduction and quality enhancement by implementing innovative manufacturing processes and lean principles. Additionally, you will create and maintain documentation protocols, oversee performance reviews, manage hiring and termination processes, and with guidance from the Director of Manufacturing Operations, you'll lead key performance goals that include optimizing labor costs, eliminating product quality issues, enhancing production output and efficiency, minimizing waste, achieving zero inspection infractions, and optimizing the inventory system. This role is pivotal in maintaining a production output to meet our demand while building a flagship manufacturing operation that can be replicated at future BB Manufacturing sites.

Compensation: The position starts between $90k - $100k per year, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 5 pm
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, train and develop department managers, fostering accountability and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Build and maintain a results-oriented culture that prioritizes collaboration and professional growth.
- Manage hiring, termination and employee performance review processes in accordance with HR.
- Operational Oversight & Efficiency
- Oversee daily plant operations, including directing work for the inventory, production, packaging, quality assurance and quality control, and facilities teams.
- Ensure production schedules align with sales forecasts to maintain minimal stockouts.
- Investigate and implement innovative manufacturing processes to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize and scale plant operations.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety, inventory, and regulatory requirements, maintaining one or fewer infractions per year.
- Provide guidance to QA to minimize product quality issues, such as labeling errors and product degradation.
- Collaborate with QA & Compliance Manager to ensure regular internal audits are conducted in order to maintain compliance with state and license partner standards.
- Inventory & Waste Management
- Work with the Inventory & Purchasing Manager to identify optimal inventory levels, and ensure they are accurate in our inventory management system.
- Develop and implement waste tracking systems to achieve 3% or less waste from production to finished goods inventory.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain open and clear communication with all department managers to ensure seamless operations.
- Foster a culture of collaboration across manufacturing and with other departments, such as sales and marketing.
- Strategic Planning & Scalability
- Analyze and streamline current processes, creating scalable systems and a clear organizational structure for future expansion.
- Oversee the continued development and implementation of our ERP system, creating and monitoring dashboards to enhance visibility and decision-making.
- Establish training programs and career growth pathways for employees, ensuring process consistency and scalability.
KPIs
- Track and maintain COGS labor as a percentage of total revenue and monitor total COGS margin.
- Maintain a monthly order fulfillment rate (target > X%).
- Maintain an average inventory turnover rate (target > X).
- Track and maintain monthly production to finished goods rate (target > X% of forecast).
- Maintain total manufacturing waste at or below target (3% or less).
- Maintain monthly manufacturing team turnover rate.
- Maintain a total physical inventory accuracy of > X% monthly.
- Maintain an average production lead time of < X days across all products.
- Maintain quarterly OpEx budget variance of +/- X%.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Experience working with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- At least 5 years leading large, diverse teams across multiple departments.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
- Proficient in data analysis and inventory management systems.
- High attention to detail and ability to thrive under pressure.
- Excellent in conflict resolution, communication, learning, and teaching a range of subjects.
- Willing to submit to a background check and obtain state-required permits, licenses, and certifications.
- State regulations require all applicants to be 21 years of age or older.
