What you will do
- Architecture & Development: Architect and implement enterprise-grade applications in cloud environments and design patterns for microservices, containerization, and serverless computing ensuring scalability, maintainability, high availability and performance. Evaluate and make critical decisions regarding technologies, frameworks, and methodologies ensuring adherence to well-architected frameworks and long-term vision.
- Strategic Cloud Leadership: Define and drive the cloud strategy to align technical initiatives with business objectives, ensuring robust, scalable, and cost-optimized architectures. Lead a team of cloud engineers, ensuring collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Champion automation by developing and enforcing infrastructure as code practices using CloudFormation, Terraform, and related tools to streamline deployments and manage resources efficiently.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication: Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to build and deliver custom enterprise software applications. Establish productive working relationships with internal teams, partners and external vendors. Present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely. Present project updates, technical challenges, risks and solutions to executives and customers, as necessary.
- Security & Compliance Oversight: Implement cloud-native best practices, including design patterns, application lifecycle, identity access management and network security. Effectively manage risk, change, and uncertainties to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Remain current on emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating innovative approaches into Consumer Cellulars cloud roadmap. Ensure high standards of development and best practices are adhered to by the team.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering or a related technical field or relevant experience. Advanced degrees and/or AWS certifications (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive, hands-on experience in designing, developing, and operating large-scale cloud environments, with a focus on AWS-based solutions.
Skills
- Extensive hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration platforms, Infrastructure Automation & Configuration Management.
- Expert in resilient microservices architectures, object-oriented and functional programming paradigms and event driven design patterns.
- Proven experience in database management within AWS environments and Cloud security concepts.
- Leadership abilities, including mentoring, conflict resolution, and team building.
- Solid understanding of Agile Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile frameworks like SAFe)
- Experience in telecom or related industries is a plus.
