Who We're Looking for

We're looking for a Product Engineering Manager to join our team to drive innovative products and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for evolving our current product line and introducing new products to the market. Through coaching and developing the engineering team, the Product Engineering Manager will use engineering best practices to deliver new products to the market. The Product Engineering Manager will report to the President and work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What you'll be doing:

Through the use of the engineering tools and principles, your experience, and, with the help of your team, you will…

  • Oversee the product engineering team, ensuring projects are complete on time and within scope.

  • Refine and advance product design standards with consideration for and international industry standards.

  • Refine and advance product validation testing standards for our products.

  • Use finite element analysis (FEA) to refine and accelerate our product designs.

  • Upgrade or develop new products according to a product roadmap.

  • Create and manage 2D drawings and 3D models of our products; including part number management.

  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to support new product introductions, and vendor management.

  • Optimize systems and processes by identifying, proposing, and driving ways to streamline efforts for technical work.

  • Manage, coach, and develop your team of engineers.

  • Quarterly travel to Iowa required.

  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or 10 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Skills

  • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams is essential

  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)

  • Experience in identifying, proposing and driving process improvement

  • Superb time management and attention to detail

  • Proficiency with commonly used engineering tools (CAD, FEA, PDM/PLM software)

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Data analysis skills to support decision making

  • Structured problem solving skills with the ability to solve complex engineering issues

  • Computer skills required:

    • ERP Systems

    • Spreadsheet Software (Excel/Google Sheets)

    • Project Management software

    • Word Processing software (Word/Google Docs)

    • Email Software (Google)

    • Presentation software (PowerPoint/Google Slides)
