Job Description:
Assist Senior Engineers develop and complete design and project deliverables for the wide variety of design contracts that we pursue. Among many others, these include all aspects of engineering for State, Municipal, and private projects for project that involve structures engineering.
Primary Job Duties:
- Ability to function as an EIT and will strive to understand all aspects of design and plan production within their discipline.
- Requires development and checking of design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, and project plans for structural steel and reinforced concrete.
- Must be self-motivated, technically proficient, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and be team-oriented.
- May be required to travel periodically within your location and neighboring states depending on project needs.
- Must be physically capable of performing fieldwork.
Works under Project Manager's supervision; receives specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected. This position will require an individual that is willing to perform a variety of tasks while working independently and as part of a team. At times assist the Project Team in technical meetings and correspondence with clients.
Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills): - Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or a related field
- Holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or able to obtain in 6 months of hire
- Minimum Experience: Entry level
- Experience using AutoCAD
- Experience in using structure design and analysis software, including spreadsheet and finite element programs (L-Pile and RISA)
- Have experience and familiarity with structure design codes and guidelines
- Civil 3D and earthwork modeling experience a plus.
- Experience with RISA or SAP2000 is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
- Must have solid skills in the following areas: planning and scheduling; organization; problem-solving; and decision-making
- Experience with design calculations, preparation of quantities and cost estimates, preparation of special provisions, and preparation of project plans is desired
- Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
