Electrical Consultants, Inc., a leading power engineering consulting firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Substation Senior Engineer in our Phoenix, AZ office.

Position Overview

This role involves configuring and producing engineering drawings for the installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor protection relay systems in high voltage substations. These systems are used to protect and control distribution and transmission lines, power transformers, capacitor banks, reactors, and associated electrical equipment.

The successful candidate will work with design teams on conceptual, preliminary, and final station project designs from 4.16 kV through 500 kV. Responsibilities include producing one-line, three-line, schematic, and wiring diagrams for high voltage substation projects. Mentoring less experienced staff and occasional travel are also expected.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
• 5+ years of experience in specifying, configuring, and producing engineering drawings for high voltage substation protection relay systems
• Extensive background in power system protection and control
• Proven team management experience
• Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills
• Ability to pass client-mandated drug and background checks
• Must meet ECI's auto insurance requirements
