Overview

NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals is looking for a Director of Quality and Risk at our Phoenix location. NPH is the national leader in providing medical and neurobehavioral care to patients in acute psychiatric distress. You will be joining a team of dedicated staff who provide exceptional, patient-centered care and understand our patients are always our number one priority! The Director of Quality supports the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance measurements and audits, and assists in improving patient safety processes throughout the hospital by coordinating activities that promote evidence-based best practices and resolve deficiencies. This role involves planning, developing, and directing system activities and protocols across NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals, preparing facilities for surveys by accrediting and licensing agencies, and serving as a resource to all departments and personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor quality goals to improve patient care and safety outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, managers, and staff to identify service improvements and cost reductions.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with JC, OSHA, CDC, CMS, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare reports and data analyses for quality assurance meetings and regulatory agencies.
  • Assess and improve quality control programs annually.
  • Investigate incidents and coordinate root cause analyses with the Corporate Quality team.
  • Establish structures for coordinated patient care and quality improvement activities.
  • Lead Quality Council meetings and provide staff education on regulations and standards.
  • Participate in mortality reviews and patient outcome evaluations.
  • Oversee employee and patient safety exposures and follow-up procedures.
  • Participate in root cause analyses and trend identification for adverse events.
  • Manage Patient Advocacy programs.
  • Build positive relationships with hospital leadership to foster a culture of quality.
  • Promote a culture where "Quality is everyone's business."
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and patient privacy laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • At least 3 years of healthcare quality and risk management experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical practices, performance improvement, and research statistics.
