Dispatch Customer Service Representative


Care Transit is a leading provider of student transportation. We are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and are seeking a talented Dispatch Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic team.


As a Dispatch Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dispatch department. This role involves overseeing daily student transportation, ensuring driver readiness, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and school/parents. This position requires the ability to manage a high volume of incoming calls, while communicating schedule changes and route adjustments to internal team and drivers. Dispatch CSR must be proficient utilizing Microsoft office programs and routing software tools. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in record-keeping, and the ability to work under pressure in diverse environments.


Details

  • Full-Time, Monday through Friday with a split shift to include 6 am to 10 am and 1 pm to 5 pm.
  • $18.00 to $22.00 DOE



Job Duties include:

  • Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, reliability, and exceptional service
  • Ability to answer a high volume of incoming calls promptly and professionally
  • Assist dispatch manager with coordinating drivers to assigned jobs, optimizing routes and minimizing travel time
  • Handle all customer inquiries and requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all customer interactions
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as data entry and report generation
  • Provide exceptional customer service over the phone and in person
  • Provide routing assistance to our drivers
  • Collect and enter data into appropriate programs and running reports as needed
  • Relay communications between dispatch and management
  • Complete required annual trainings
  • Provide transportation back-up when needed and other duties as assigned


  • Qualifications

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to master and use transit related software programs
    • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Google Docs
    • Ability to type 35 WPM
    • Proven ability to work effectively under competing priorities with little or no supervision
    • Must demonstrate ability to remain courteous and professional while managing a high volume of calls
    • Possess strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills
    • Prior dispatching or call center experience required
    • Bilingual in Spanish a plus


    Requires:

    • Minimum age of 21
    • Valid AZ Driver's License and clean motor vehicle record for the last 5 years
    • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain
    • Pass background check and drug screening
