Job Overview:
As a Non-Union Vegetation Control (VC) Technician, you will be working in the field to clear vegetation around power poles using specialized tools and equipment. This role involves physical, hands-on work, including trimming, cutting, and removing brush and trees to maintain utility access. You will be responsible for operating equipment safely, following work orders, and ensuring job sites are clear of hazards. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, using a variety of tools, and being part of a team that keeps utility infrastructure running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vegetation clearing around utility poles using various hand and power tools, including chainsaws, weed eaters, brush trimmers, pruners, handsaws, and pole saws.
  • Conduct daily vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure proper maintenance and safe operation.
  • Utilize digital programs to review work orders and document completed tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding work progress and site conditions.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety guidelines while performing all job duties.
  • Complete required documentation and paperwork accurately.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle operation requirements.
  • Ability to perform general labor tasks for a full workday in various outdoor conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and operate vegetation management tools safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work orders accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in vegetation management, landscaping, or a related field preferred
  • Basic customer service experience is preferred, as this role involves frequent interaction with residents and private property owners.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in vegetation management, landscaping, or a related field.
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Herbicide applicator's license (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Certifications (Required or to be Obtained Upon Hire):
  • CPR certification.
  • Annual driver training.
  • Completion of VC Tech training form.
  • LCCP Test completion.
  • Herbicide applicator's license (required within 90 days of hire).
