We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Content to develop, lead, and execute a truly unparalleled content strategy. This pivotal role is responsible for shaping our brand narrative, establishing A1 garage as the go-to authority in the home services industry (both locally and nationally), and driving significant organic growth. You will own the entire content ecosystem across all channels, ensuring every piece of content is highly engaging, informative, audience-centric, and ultimately drives measurable results – from building brand awareness and authority to generating qualified leads and conversions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Strategy Development: Architect, document, and champion a comprehensive, data-informed content strategy aligned with overall marketing (CMO) and business objectives. Define target audience personas, content pillars, editorial calendars, and channel distribution plans.
  • Content Creation & Oversight: Lead the ideation, creation, editing, and publishing of high-quality, engaging content across multiple formats – including SEO-optimized website copy, informative blog posts, in-depth guides, compelling video scripts, infographics, social media updates, email marketing campaigns, case studies, and more.
  • SEO & Organic Growth: Collaborate closely with SEO specialists (or lead SEO content efforts) to ensure all content is optimized for search engines and user intent, targeting relevant keywords to significantly grow organic traffic and leads.
  • Brand Authority & Voice: Define, refine, and enforce a consistent brand voice, tone, and style guide across all content. Position A1 garage as a trusted expert and thought leader within the home services space.
  • Multi-Channel Distribution: Oversee content distribution and optimization across all relevant channels including the website, blog, social media platforms, email newsletters, YouTube, and potentially offline materials, ensuring content is adapted appropriately for each platform.
  • Audience Focus: Develop a deep understanding of our target audiences (homeowners, specific demographics) – their needs, pain points, questions, and decision-making journeys – to ensure content is highly relevant and valuable.
  • Performance Measurement & Optimization: Define key content performance indicators (KPIs). Implement tracking, analyze content performance (traffic, engagement metrics, lead generation, conversion rates, SEO impact), and provide regular reports. Use insights to continuously refine the content strategy and improve results.
  • Team & Resource Management: Lead and mentor internal content creators and manage relationships, projects, and budgets for external resources (freelancers, agencies, videographers, designers, editors).
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with Marketing leadership (CMO), Digital Marketing, SEO, social media, PR, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure content is integrated, aligned, and supports broader campaigns and business needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven track record (5-8+ years) in a senior content strategy or content marketing leadership role.
  • Demonstrable success in developing and executing content strategies that significantly increased organic traffic, improved search rankings, built brand awareness, and generated qualified leads.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills with an obsessive eye for quality and detail.
  • Deep understanding of SEO principles, keyword research, content optimization, and SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console).
  • Experience managing content production workflows, editorial calendars, and content management systems (CMS) like WordPress.
  • Proficiency with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and ability to translate data into actionable content insights.
  • Experience creating/managing content across various formats (written, visual, video) and channels (web, social, email, print).
  • Experience managing creative teams, freelancers, or agencies.
  • Experience in B2C marketing required; experience in home services, local services, or related industries strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field preferred.
