The Maintenance Director will oversee and maintain the maintenance and repair of fleet trucks and specialized vehicles.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Develops schedules and procedures for and ensures adherence to routine maintenance and non-routine repair of all vehicles in the company's fleet.
Coordinate, schedule, and audit vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair to tractors, trucks, and trailers.
Prioritize and assign work to meet company needs.
Develops and enforces procedures, policies, and safety protocols for all fleet services staff.
Coach and mentor technicians and admin staff.
Oversee the records management of all equipment.
Oversee the ordering of parts & maintain parts inventory.
Maintain warranties, PM schedule and repair records.
Drafts and presents reports on department operations and expenses.
Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of the company's assets.
Manage facilities, assuring a clean and safe working environment.
Participate in hiring & termination of service & repair staff.
Meet with members of management to discuss policies, problems & provide recommendations for improvement.
Report all injuries and safety violations to HR.
Ensure that the service department performs with a positive attitude and a sense of urgency that exceeds company expectations.
Review Mechanics work orders for accuracy and completeness.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Experience:
5+ years of fleet maintenance management experience required.
3+ years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics is preferred.
Associates or Tech School degree preferred.
Valid driver's license.
Required skills/Abilities:
TMT software experience strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations.
Must have knowledge of Kenworth, Freightliner, Peterbilt.
Must have knowledge of End Dump, Pneumatic, Tanker and Refrigerated Trailer.
Ability to prepare and adhere to a budget and to monitor and reduce expenses.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, TMT, TMW and Innovative.
