The reporting point can be at 185th Ave South of Bell Rd or the Hassayampa Pumping Plant at 291st Ave and Sun Valley Pkwy.

The pay listed ($48.12 per hour) reflects our STARTING PAY only and does not reflect the full range which steps up to $53.47 per hour (top pay typically reached within two years with proven mastery of skills and good performance).

About the PositionAs a
Pumping Plant Millwright Mechanic, you will be responsible for the operational availability, efficient operation and maintenance of large pumping plants, generation stations, check structures and turnouts. Perform overhauls, installations, modifications, troubleshooting and predictive and preventative maintenance of plant equipment and systems, as well as local plant operations. These positions are subject to call-outs to a variety of operational emergencies on and off hours. Work assignments are primarily at pumping plants and other system facilities in a specific geographic area but at times throughout their employment, incumbents may be assigned to work at other locations across the Central Arizona Project system, as needs dictate. These locations and facilities are located geographically throughout Arizona.
About the QualificationsHaving completed a related state or federal certified Mechanical Apprenticeship; or possessing the equivalent combination of education, related experience and demonstrated ability PLUS at least three (3) years of journeyman-level work experience in an industrial mechanical environment with technical and specialized knowledge are essential to be successful in this position. Also, a valid driver's license, good driving record, and a high school diploma (or GED) are required. Crane and welding experience is preferred.
