THE ROLE: Project Engineer

LOCATION: Tolleson, AZ

REPORTS TO: General Manager

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Exempt

OUR OPPORTUNITY:

The Project Engineer is responsible for designing, overseeing and coordinating engineering projects including complex projects for custom access, ladders and work platforms. They provides technical support to the sales department, manufacturing and customers and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and safety.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide sketches and details as part of the design process.
  • Review returned approval drawings from customer for any requested changes that affect design, structural integrity and cost.
  • Check approval drawings for proper design of work platforms/structures and conformance to customers' requests and specifications.
  • Provide cost change workups and documentation.
  • Provide detailed project information to project files.
  • Drive cost savings through active participation in continuous improvement throughout the department, improving processes and standards.


YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical engineering, or related field of study.
  • Minimum two years prior engineering experience in structural project engineering.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D modeling and structural design software and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of proper welding designations.
  • Knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
  • Excellent math and analytical skills.
  • Advanced project and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Current, valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
  • Physical Requirements include: Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, ability to lift 25 pounds. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment (copier/printer). Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
