Provides patient transportation to and from inpatient, ambulatory, ancillary departments as determined by identified support areas of service. Transportation of patients is performed via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed. Must have knowledge of working components of transport equipment and safe patient handling equipment. Ensures patient safety throughout transportation process, status of patients can range from stable to critical. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age specific needs.
