The UOCAVA Technician works closely with the UOCAVA Supervisor to provide support to the UOCAVA (Uniformed and Overseas Citizen Absentee Voting Act) Division of the Elections Department. This position distributes and processes electronic ballots for Military and overseas Voters. Additionally, it assists with training and supporting temporary workers in the UOCAVA division and provides administrative support to the department.

We Require
Two years' experience performing office, administrative, and clerical duties
High School Diploma or GED
Other Requirements
Must be registered or eligible to register to vote in Arizona
Must successfully complete the next Secretary of State Election Officer Certification
Must be able to pass applicable background screening

Job Contributions
Perform office support duties for the FPCA (Federal Post Card Applications) entry and other support duties for the UOCAVA process and division
Timely data entry/research of received FPCA forms (Federal Post Card Applications) so to ensure adherence with federal and state statutory requirements (24-hour turnaround)
Scanning of FPCA forms that serve as alternate Voter Registration forms
Flagging Military and Overseas Citizens ballots for production
Support the distribution of UOCAVA ballots (by mail, fax, or electronically sent)
Assist with responding to incoming inquiries from UOCAVA voters regarding process and submission requirements
Assist with preparing returned UOCAVA ballots for disposition and duplication
Assist with signature verification of returned voter Early Voting packets
Assist with the entry and maintenance of the Active Early Voting List of voters
Assist with the Flagging of Early Voting Ballot requests
Off-cycle assist with Voter Registration form data entry & voter record modifications
Off-cycle assist with Voter Registration database auditing and maintenance regardless of the cycle (to include address verification mailings, push & pull of outside agency data, data maintenance, etc.)
Off-cycle, assist with reviewing and reconciling other Voter Databases (e.g., UOCAVA, Alternate Format tables, AEVL, etc.).
Assist other divisions of the Elections Department in performing their functions with regard to the conduct of elections
Working Conditions
This position requires the ability to work irregular hours and shifts based on departmental needs
Evenings and some weekend work will be required
Must be able to work extensive mandatory overtime during the Primary/General Election cycles and as needed to fulfill the obligations of this position
This position frequently requires lifting a maximum of 20 lbs. for a minimum distance of 20 feet
